Graphic design and motion design for a video work projected in a multipurpose projection space “AxCROSS” at KITTE Osaka, a large commercial complex directly connected to Osaka Station.This New Year’s video piece takes Japanese New Year’s stamps as its motif. The zoetrope, invented in the 19th century, is an optical device that creates the illusion of motion through the rotation of multiple still images, relying on visual persistence. Historically, it often depicted a horse running. Drawing on this technique, the work references the Year of the Horse and reinterprets New Year’s stamps as a zoetrope—responding to the origins of KITTE itself, a facility whose name is derived from postage stamps.

大阪駅直結の複合商業施設「KITTE」に設けられた多目的映像投影スペースAxCROSSにて投影される映像のグラフィック、モーションをデザイン。 年賀切手をモチーフとした、迎春のための映像作品です。19世紀に発明され、複数の静止画を回転させることで、視覚の残像から動きを生み出す映像装置としてゾートロープが挙げられます。かつて馬が走る姿を描いていたこの手法を、午年である今年の干支になぞらえ、切手を起源とする施設「KITTE」に呼応するかたちで、年賀切手をゾートロープとして再構成しました。
